Door County Home Builders Association Education Awards

Door County Home Builders Association (DCHBA) is committed to maintaining a strong workforce in the home building industry in Door County Wisconsin.

As part of this mission, DCHBA offers an education award to high school students pursuing a secondary education in home construction or related industry and an education award for DCHBA members, employees, and family members. Applicants are not eligible to apply for both awards in the same year.

The 2024 application period is now closed. Applicants will be notified as soon as the award committee reviews the applications.

2024 High School Student DCHBA Education Award Eligibility Requirements:

High School Student applicants must:

  • be a member of the 2024 graduating class from any Door County high school.
  • have a cumulative high school GPA of at least 2.5 (confirmation must be provided)
  • be pursuing an educational program at a trade school, technical college, or accredited university, which in the opinion of the Award Committee, is related to the home construction industry or related field (carpentry, HVAC, electrical, masonry, flooring, heavy equipment, landscaping, interior design, architecture, plumbing etc).
  • submit the education award application to DCHBA by 5 PM CT on April 19, 2024.

DCHBA may submit qualified applicants of the high school award to the Wisconsin Builders Foundation for a matching award up to $1000.

 


2024 DCHBA Employee or Dependent Education Award Eligibility Requirements

  • be a dependent of a current Door County Home Builders Association member in good standing (owner or employee of a member business.) If businesses have multiple locations, only dependents from the location of the member of record of the DCHBA are eligible. View the DCHBA member directory here.
  • be a member of the 2024 graduating class from any Wisconsin high school.
  • have a cumulative high school GPA of at least 2.5 (confirmation must be provided).
  • be pursuing an educational program at a trade school, technical college or accredited university. The program is not required to be a trades-related field.
  • submit the education award application to DCHBA by 5 PM CT on April 19, 2024.

  • be an owner, employee or spouse of owner or employee of a business location that is a member of record of the DCHBA. View the DCHBA member directory here.
  • have a high school diploma or GED prior to 2021.
  • be pursuing an educational program at a trade school, technical college, or accredited university. The program is not required to be in a trades-related field.
  • submit the education award application to DCHBA by 5 PM CT on April 19, 2024.

The applicant for the DCHBA Employee or Dependent Education Award does not have to reside in Door County.
