Door County Home Builders Association Education Awards

The 2021 DCHBA education award recipients:

  • Lucas Bousley, Southern Door, UW Stout for Technology Education
  • Dylan Buhr, Southern Door, NWTC for Carpentry
  • Daniel Meier, Southern Door, NWTC for HVAC
  • Andrew Price, Sturgeon Bay, UW Milwaukee, Architecture

Each recipient also received a matching award from the Wisconsin Builders Foundation.

Door County Home Builders Association (DCHBA) is committed to maintaining a strong workforce in the home building industry in Door County Wisconsin.

As part of this mission, DCHBA offers two education awards for students pursuing a secondary education in the home construction or related industry.

Two $1,000 awards are available for 2022:

  • One $1,000 award is for a member of the 2022 graduating class from any Door County high school
  • One $1,000 award is for a non-traditional student residing in Door County.

The 2022 application period is now open.  Applications are due by May 18, 2022.

Eligibility Requirements:

High School Student applicants must:

  • be a member of the 2022 graduating class from any Door County high school
  • have a cumulative high school GPA of at least 2.5 (confirmation must be provided)
  • be pursuing an educational program at a trade school, technical college, or accredited university, which in the opinion of the Award Committee, is related to the home construction industry or related field (carpentry, HVAC, electrical, masonry, flooring, architecture etc.)

DCHBA may submit qualified applicants of the high school award to the Wisconsin Builders Foundation for a matching award.

Non-traditional applicants must:

  • be a legal resident of Door County, WI
  • have graduated from high school or received a GED prior to 2019
  • be pursuing an educational program at a trade school, technical college, or accredited university, which in the opinion of the Award Committee, is related to the home construction industry or related field (carpentry, HVAC, electrical, masonry, flooring, architecture etc.)
