Door County Home Builders Association 2019 Scholarships

The Door County Home Builders Association (DCHBA) is proud to offer an annual scholarship program for students in Door County Wisconsin who are pursuing a career in the home building industry.

The Door County Home Builders Association (DCHBA) is offering the following scholarships for 2019:

High School Class of 2019 Scholarship
Two (2) $1,000 scholarships to be awarded to students attending a Door County high school. Preference for one of the available scholarships will be given to a student who participated in and will successfully complete the 2019 Door County High School Home Construction Program (instructor acknowledgment required).

The following qualifications must be met in order to be considered.

The applicant must:

  • be a member of the 2019 graduating class from any Door County high school
  • have a cumulative high school GPA of at least 2.5 (confirmation must be provided)
  • be pursuing a course of study in the home building industry or related field (carpentry, HVAC, electrical, masonry, flooring, architecture etc.) at a technical college or accredited university

Additional information

  • The one-time award will be paid directly to the technical school or university at the beginning of the second semester. Proof of enrollment will be required.
  • The application and the answer to the essay question must be received by the DCHBA  by 5 p.m. Friday, May 3, 2019.
  • The winner(s) will be acknowledged at the DCHBA June 2019 General Membership meeting.
  • The award will be based on academic achievement and potential, character, leadership, social awareness, extracurricular activities, and career goals.
  • Applications will be evaluated by the DCHBA scholarship committee.

Scholarship winners will be submitted to the Wisconsin Builders Foundation for consideration for a matching scholarship award.


Door County Home Builders Association Nontraditional Adult Student Scholarship
One (1) $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to a non-traditional student who resides in Door County.

The purpose of Door County Home Builders Association Nontraditional Student  Scholarship is to assist a nontraditional student residing in Door County WI who is pursuing a secondary education in the home building industry or related field (carpentry, HVAC, electrical, masonry, flooring, architecture etc.) at a technical college or accredited university.

The Door County Home Builders Association (DCHBA) is offering the following non-traditional student scholarship for 2019:

One (1) $1,000 scholarship to be awarded to a non-traditional student residing in Door County, WI pursuing a secondary education in the home building industry or related field (carpentry, HVAC, electrical, masonry, flooring, architecture etc.) at a technical college or accredited university.

The following qualifications must be met in order to be considered.

The applicant must:

  • be a legal resident of Door County, WI
  • be age 25 or older at the time of enrollment for the Fall 2019 term
  • be pursuing a course of study in the home building industry or related field (carpentry, HVAC, electrical, masonry, flooring, architecture etc.) at a technical college or accredited university

Additional information

  • The one-time award will be paid directly to the technical school or university at the beginning of the second semester of the 2019-2020 academic year. Proof of enrollment will be required.
  • The completed application and personal statement of academic and career goals and commitment to community must be received by the DCHBA, Friday, May 3, 2019.
  • The winner will be acknowledged at the DCHBA June 2019 General Membership meeting.
  • The award will be based on academic achievement/potential, character, community involvement, and career goals.
  • Applications will be evaluated by the DCHBA scholarship committee.
